The amount of effort put into this wall is amazing. RideOnMusic has taken a bare monochrome scan and made it into a full color masterpiece. Check out the amazing amount of detail and time taken to deliver it in multiple formats! Excellent wallpaper!
Well, if you are trying to mimic the iPod ad style, you should use a more vibrant color. Something neon maybe. Your color is kinda dark and doesn't allow the black silhouette to POP. The lines also need work. How did you extract the image? Did you use the magic wand tool or did you use the lasso? Zoom in really close and use the lasso tool. That will get you cleaner lines. You could also use to pen tool in photoshop but i find it cumbersome myself. Any sans serif font will work. Just find a real iPod add, type next to their typeface and just try to adjust the height and width to match as close as possible. The only thing i can think of to create an iPod is to use the pen or lasso tool and create one using a real iPod os another ad as reference. Remember, the core appeal of these ads are that they are simple and bright. Hope that helps a little.
BEFORE I found real instructions on how to make a ipod ad with a silhouette, I used the magic wand one time and masked for about 3 days after school, which 4pm to 10pm, and thats about 18 hours of pointless work. Then yesterday, not only my sister told me how to extract, but a tutorial that I found came along as well. Now I don't feel like starting over on a scan that is really hard to extract. I didn't use the lasso tool because most people refer to it a lot but I just don't know what was it and how to use it. Thanks for the font and I want to become your friend.
